The Gerson Sabino Institute is a non-profit
institution whose purpose is to foster educational
and cultural activities associated with the universe of
play. The idea for the Institute arose from ongoing research
undertaken by Origem on games, toys and amusements from all over the world, over the course of two decades.
Prompted by the far-reaching impact of cultural and educational activities related to our products, we felt the time had come to provide greater definition to an area of our work that is set apart from the commercial activity of selling toys and play objects, and so we decided to create a cultural and educational institute to establish a formal setting for these activities that arose organically from our work.

When we created the Institute we named it after Gerson Sabino, the great motivator, support, creator and engineer of dreams, to whom the founders of the Institute owe a great debt of gratitude and acknowledgement. As relatives and admirers of the great man that Gerson Sabino was, we have been imbued with a desire to extend his vision of the world and to increase our own ability to contribute to the education and culture of our country. This is the objective and the raison d’être of the Institute.
